You cannot expect perfect coordination from so many people, especially volunteers who might just want to see X or Y package in the registry and don't necessarily care about digging super deep into how things work. Not to mention, having ten different similarly good ways of doing something is a known Lisp curse. When you have barely any syntax and very convenient tools to mess with ASTs, all hell breaks loose.
